Suddenly Inspired || Creating Lists and Goals

I know, wedding planning is overwhelming! In this episode of Suddenly Inspired I help you create lists that you will be crossing off in no time. Now, doesn’t that feel good?!

Unique Wedding Gowns: My Favs!

I love a unique wedding gown. One that makes a statement; one that says “hey I’m bold” (and yes dresses do talk). On my wedding day I wore a pretty different dress, one with delicate sleeves that said “hey I’m not afraid to take a chance.” And I know what your thinking… “sleeves?!!”… yeah girl, sleeves! And it was really pretty, I promise. Check it out below :) Given my wedding gown choice, it’s no wonder that when my eyes wander over images of unique dresses, I fall in love. Now I’m not talking about anything crazy, like wearing an orange gown or a dress that has a hood. I’m referring to gowns that push the envelope of the traditional wedding looks and compliment your unique style. BHLDN has some of my favorite unique wedding gown collections and below are just a few of my favorites. Soo, are you up for wearing a gown that makes a statement?

Sparkles! I absolutely love the pop of sparkle and the mixture of textures…

So playful! I love the way it flows about…

Can’t get over these layers and the shoulder detail…

Love these delicate layers…

And here is a snapshot of my wedding dress, complete with sleeves. Claire Pettibone 2008…

The Start to my New Year

WOW right? Isn’t this picture spectacular?! This was how we rang in the new year….in Nicaragua no less. Yup, sitting around the bonfire with my husband and 4 friends. Prior to this seemingly peaceful moment, we shot off fireworks (LOTS if fireworks), had the fire blazing 10 feet tall, danced, and hit the ocean. This was the start to my New Year. Umm awesome! Don’t worry there are so many more pictures to come from this trip which I will certainly make you jealous with soon. But until I gather them all up, enjoy this magnificent photo by the talented Ira Lippke (photo unedited! I know, crazy!!).

New Year’s Eve Party Shoot! || Featured on Green Wedding Shoes

Happy New Year!! As we get ready for the start of another fabulous year, we wanted to bring a little new years celebration inspiration. And yes, this includes tinsel, party hats, and disco balls. YES, disco balls! Who would’ve thought, right? The table is set with modern tableware, complete with tons of tinsel running down the center and gold sequined wrapped candles nestled in it’s midst. Suspended above the table are five disco balls, catching the glimmer of the fun decor around. And of course it’s the season for resolutions! Slipped into the resolution jar are the couple’s hopes, dreams, and goals for 2012. 2012 will be full of a lot of good things for this darling couple :) And may 2012 be full of a lot of hopes, dreams and sparkle for you!

And before you gaze onto these pretty images (shot by the super talented Mark Brooke Photographers), you should know this adorable shoot was featured on Green Wedding Shoes! Head on over to check it out there too!

DIY Christmas Trees

Some of you may remember this super cute DIY Christmas Tree video we made that was featured on Wedding Chicks last year. I still love these darling little trees made out of chicken wire, yarn and coffee filters. Give it a shot, create your own!

DIY Christmas Wreath

With Christmas just around the corner, all of the decorations have come out! Every year I like to do a fun little DIY project to adorn our house. This year, the craft is a wreath. The best part is, this super adorable (can I say that?!) wreath was made at a Christmas crafting party. Hint for a fun evening with the ladies to bring some holiday cheer… craft night party. Seriously, wayyyy too much fun! Anyways, this wreath now sits above our fireplace, looking ever so darling (yup, complimented my wreath again). It’s not too late to make a cute one of your own. It’s so simple too! All you need is some yarn, felt, styrofoam wreath and any other little goodies to add on. I just wrapped the styrofoam wreath in yarn, then created a couple felt flowers. I simply attached the flowers and the sparkly leaf item to the wreath with hot glue. Done and done. Cuteness in no time at all. Well, wrapping that styrofoam does take some time, but just chat with the ladies and it won’t feel so long. I hope you are inspired to make your own wreath, giving it your own unique spin!
