Weekend of Concerts!

I’ll admit, I’m musically challenged. I’m that person that, without direction, would buy music based on the Top 10 list or anything played on KISS-FM (which happens to be the type of music that keeps me on the dance floor!). My husband, Winn, couldn’t be more opposite. He always knows the upcoming, underground, or alternative artists. Basically things typically not played on my favorite radio station. But because of him, over the years my ears have been open to a lot of great artists and music that I would have never know of! And I love it (well most of it). One of our favorite things to do is go to concerts to see some of our favorite artists – no matter the venue. This holiday weekend we had quite the line up of shows. To start the weekend we saw Ryan Adams in LA at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and capped off the long weekend at a show of David Bazan, lead singer of Pedro the Lion in a living room (yes, a living room show)! Heart Themed Engagement Party Inspiration

With the day of love around the corner, we created an inspirational shoot for a Valentine’s Day Engagement Party! The head table is the perfect spot for two lovers to enjoy their garden party. The low table was surrounded by pillows covering the ground for fun seating, and decorated with a unique ombre heart flower arrangement, perfect for the occasion. Every party needs good favors! So for this shoot we created a “valentine favor wall,” complete with darling little goodie bags full of V-day candy for guests to take home and enjoy. The cake is backdropped by patterned fabric covered in paper hearts trickling down the wall, mirroring the the cake itself with delicate, textured hearts upon it. And the couple was outfitted in cute (and sparkly!) Valentine attire, ready to celebrate their love!

Yes, you have to wait to see the shoot but it’s coming soon Often during shoots (and even weddings) we get so into the details and set up that we rarely have a moment to snap a fun photo. Unique Wedding Gowns: My Favs!

I love a unique wedding gown. One that makes a statement; one that says “hey I’m bold” (and yes dresses do talk). On my wedding day I wore a pretty different dress, one with delicate sleeves that said “hey I’m not afraid to take a chance.” And I know what your thinking… “sleeves?!!”… yeah girl, sleeves! And it was really pretty, I promise. Check it out below Given my wedding gown choice, it’s no wonder that when my eyes wander over images of unique dresses, I fall in love. Now I’m not talking about anything crazy, like wearing an orange gown or a dress that has a hood. I’m referring to gowns that push the envelope of the traditional wedding looks and compliment your unique style. BHLDN has some of my favorite unique wedding gown collections and below are just a few of my favorites. Soo, are you up for wearing a gown that makes a statement?
